April 27 – May 3, 2026

Wow, what a week we just had; I hope you moved forward in your King of Swords style energy and got a lot done or made progress regardless of what the rest of the world was doing. Or not doing. Or undoing.
What’s next? I can’t imagine. But we have to plow ahead and hopefully Tarot will point us in the most helpful direction. By the way, this is not a spread. Spreads have a layout with each card position indicating an element of the question/answer. What I’m finding to be more interesting for a general reading is to put down five cards and see what jumps out and let them arrange themselves, and their message, intuitively.
- 6 of Wands
- Eight of Pentacles, reversed
- 9 of Cups
- Death
- 3 of Cups
These cards tell me a story of determined, showy movement forward despite feeling a bit shaky on the finer points; but it feels good, so let’s go! There is pleasure with that 9 of Cups, and then into our good time comes Death. After Death? Celebration with the relationships we most cherish and don’t mind putting the time into, in order to nourish them and keep them on a good footing.
Whoa, I can hear you saying. What about the Death card? The DEATH card? WHAT?
Don’t freak out. Read the context. Here the Death card, which means complete ending of one thing but implies complete beginning of the next is splatted firmly down in an emotionally stable state of being, and includes that 6 of Wands card which indicates we most certainly have not had the wind knocked out of our sails.

Should that Death card have been surrounded by more difficult or sorrowful cards, we surely could have read it with the usual emotions that come with a hard end. But it’s not; and with that, I am inclined to read the subtext of the Death card, the thing nobody talks about. The Death card can show up in a reading in order to ask, “What’s next?”
That’s reinforced by the 6 of Wands. 6 of Wands doesn’t get out of bed unless the effort is going to be well worth it. So I’m going to say, a good week. A good week to hitch up your britches, comb your hair, and launch out into the world in an effort to move past something that has kept you stuck. Will it pay off? Or shall we allow that reversed 8 of Pentacles to send us back to the sofa?
Reversed 8 of Pentacles has no answer for us; he’s in the back room, rifling through the shelves, looking for a wrench or a chisel he set down a few days ago and now has absolutely no idea where to find. Ignore him.
Which is to say, the reward is not the motivation this week. The action, and the restoration of optimism and forward motion, is the reward. I’ll take it and I hope you will, too.
Not to be left out of the party, the Lenormand has this to offer about what we might pay closest attention to, while all this other business is going on:

- Woman
- Key
- Anchor
- Star
- Moon
This Lenormand reading ties in with our Tarot reading, in that it is also very positive but it throws a little more detail in there – with the Woman card, we’re encouraged to use feminine energy to infuse our efforts with creativity and imagination, and to be receptive to the ideas other people would like to contribute. That’s the key, literally, to opening this energy stream.
The new path offered this week is stable, and again—worth it! Where we are going is very positive, filled with hope, and leads to rewards.
Y’all, this is a good good good good good good good good good set of readings! No matter what else happens in the world this week, and we know things will and likely they’ll be crazy, remember to cultivate your own path forward. This is a great week with huge emphasis on our emotional and mental progress, a very thinky-feely week (not so much one of metaphorical hands in the dirt, planting, panning for gold, or hacking out a trail. Not a physical week.)
I think we’ve been waiting for a week like this for about…oh…six years or so? And it brings me great joy to bring this possibility to you, for your consideration.
