It is purely sweltering where I live, and school is back in session although good luck showing off that cool new hoodie or your new dark wash jeans or sweet boots with the fringe down the sides in this weather! August activities and the promise of football draw our thoughts toward autumn but don’t offer me a pumpkin-spiced anything unless it’s on ice.

The King of Cups really wants to do something this week, friends, and not just a token offering; he has the Ace of Pentacles urging him to make sure the foundation is solid and long-lasting, and no less a card than THE STAR to encourage him to dream big. Feet on the ground, head in the stars, indeed.
What does he NOT need? A lot of showing off from 6 of Wands, all hat and no cattle as they say out West – and he also doesn’t need somebody slicing his wondrous imagination and musings to ribbons. Don’t get me wrong, very often our friends in Cups are extra, and need some judicious editing to keep them from slopping over the rim and making a big mess.
Sometimes the Cups get so overcome by their feelings, they fudge a bit on actual skill and delivery, and instead lean into the theatrics and what they HOPE will happen.
Not this time, though. Not this week. The King of Cups (and by King of Cups, I mean you) has a magical good luck charm. The Star in Tarot is a swing for the fences energy! And it is reinforced by that Ace of Pentacles – the card of new starts that are built on steady footings.
So often we talk ourselves out of our dreams and any plans that seem outside of what are average and acceptable. This week’s energy is fully supported, as long as it is coming from our hearts. No Queen of Swords with tactical, cerebral calculations for success using formulas and statistics. No faking enthusiasm and putting on a good show.
No, what this week wants from us is to make a wish, commit, and run headlong toward the new start that makes our hearts happy. We don’t often see spreads like this, lately! Please embrace it and make the most of it!
