Weekly Tarot Energy Reading

June 15 – 21, 2026

We have a New Moon this week, shining down on us in a way that promotes the old saying, “Sunlight makes a good disinfectant” as we gain energetic opportunity to clearly see what is serving us, and what we should throw over the side of the boat.

I thought it might be fun to divide this reading up between Tarot and Lenormand, so we have two Tarot cards and six Lenormands. Why? I don’t know, why not? Why do I do anything? Because it feels right.

  • 9 of Cups reversed
  • 4 of Pentacles reversed

Well, that’s not much help; if these cards were upright, they’d talk about inner contentment and emotional satisfaction based on the ability to be clear-eyed and pragmatic about resources and funds. But they’re not. So we have to assume the ability to do both those things will be out of reach this week… which means we might find ourselves in situations where we would need those very qualities.

And intuitively, I’m getting shoved hard with the idea of “secrets.” Most specifically, the feeling that sometimes we keep things secret in order to protect friendships; but keeping secrets makes a bad foundation for friendships. So I wonder if this week also carries with it the energy of what we will risk to have stability and be safe, and what we are willing to surrender for authenticity.

Lenormand, when asked to show the most prominent central theme running through this week, offers this:

  • Ring
  • Rider
  • Scythe
  • Bear
  • Mountain
  • Key

News comes this week of a union or contractual agreement, but at a price. The price is worth it, but still an obstacle stands in the way of getting everything sorted out. It’s not impossible, though, and sheer grit and determination will open that door.

Thus we have: useless cards that indicate we may have to search ourselves to understand at what price we afford personal peace, some ramblings about secrets, and this succinct Lenormand reading about pushing through to take advantage of a sudden opportunity to nail down a decision, commitment, or resolution.

Okay. So we are asked to think about where we are compromising and if that compromise involves keeping secrets; and then the Lenormand Key card practically rattles itself off the table to get my attention. Is the secret the key to making some situation resolve itself for good?

Following that line of (intuitive) thought, revealing a secret or deciding to tell the truth about something is the act that sets off a chain of events that, while challenging and daunting, is absolutely necessary to have authentic peace.

It is very scary to be faced with revealing a secret, or choosing to hide information because you think it will completely rearrange your environment if it is found out. So we continue to conceal things, and the price is high and gets higher. Right now, the price we might pay to reveal a secret is higher than it was yesterday, but lower than it will be tomorrow.

The Mountain card from Lenormand shows one side of the Mountain in shadow, and the other side in sunlight. Our Bear card is on the shadow side, indicating a hard climb. Fearful, we say, “But it’s a mountain.”

And the Bear says, “Yeah but I’m a bear. A BEAR.” What is a mountain, to a bear?

The last card of this spread is the Key, on the light side of the mountain. If we can stick with it and get over the mountain, in the wake of revealing the truth about something, we will find what we need to go forward into new territory.

Add in the New Moon energy of coming clean to ourselves about where we find ourselves, and how we got here. This could be a big week for ripping off a bandage and coming to terms with what is true in our lives, and turning to face a new direction.
