Last week, the cards strongly urged us to use intuition, solely, to navigate through the upcoming days; and belatedly I realized that if a younger me had read that, she might have been waiting expectantly all week for some interesting situation to come up, in order to have a chance to practice using intuition to solve it. Waiting and looking at the clock, and the door, and up and down the road for that mythic event.
Wrong! Yes, that happens sometimes. But using intuition every day is much simpler, and more subtle. It’s an easy matter of figuring out how the day should go by how you feel. What task to tackle next? Best results come from letting your energy guide you; go to the task that has the most pull, even if it might not be the first thing on the list. The more often I can do this and not overrule my left-brained, practical urgings, the more successful a day becomes. It really is that simple.
The cards for next week are:
- King of Pentacles
- 2 of Wands
- 4 of Cups reversed
- The Chariot reversed
- Ace of Cups reversed
Please don’t feel pressured to make any big decisions next week in the area of food, money, or shelter because – although you might feel tremendously responsible for shoring up these matters – the reversed cards are offering absolutely no traction and, in fact, if they could scrape up the energy to do it, they’d be working against each other.
And then that 2 of Wands…he’s not reversed, so YAY for that, but the suit of Wands is always weaving into the Pentacles’ lane and slowing down work and progress! So he’s the element of conflict, the wand stuck in the spokes of the King’s Chariot.
2 of Wands. Twos are for balance. Twos are when you let somebody in, you buddy up, make a partnership. That’s a great thing when it works, and a lousy thing when it fails. It takes much handling and care, and it is necessary for our growth to learn how to compromise and include another person.
Wands are the extracurricular things we take on; Pentacles are the absolute requirements. The things Pentacles address are not optional, but the Wands are where we start picking and choosing additions to our lives. Hobbies, passions, good things, dumb things, things that will tell the world something about us. Wands are an expression to the world.
Example: two people can move into apartments in the same complex. The apartments are identical in floor plan, paint, carpet, materials in the kitchen, window blinds, bathroom fixtures. PENTACLES.
But each apartment will eventually look completely different, because of the furnishings and décor. WANDS.
So here is the King of Pentacles, wanting to get down to business in the kingdom and make sure it is secure and running well, and Wands glides in on an electric scooter and says, “You know what would be fun? LET’S BUY CANOES AND GO TO THE LAKE!!!” And as the King stands there, dumbfounded, the 2 of Wands adds, “We’ll need to take your car and also we have to stop and pick up my friend. Who you have not met.”
In our spread story, the King will never get rid of the 2 of Wands, who will stand around and badger him all week. Then he might start to break down under the weight of the guilt trip, because Wands wants what it wants, and make some stupid and hasty decision simply to get it over with.
Don’t be the King of Pentacles this week, friends. Do whatever you need to do ( you are a King, after all) to avoid committing to any foolishness the Wands want you to get involved with. It can only go badly if you don’t.
