June 22 – 28, 2026
This is what I write about the High Priestess in my upcoming book on the Major Arcana: “The High Priestess is the frequency that carries our intuition.”
Why do I start this reading with that, you ask? Because these are our cards for next week:

- High Priestess
- Judgement reversed
- 6 of Cups reversed
- Ace of Pentacles reversed
- 7 of Wands reversed
I hope you didn’t have plans! The most immediate interpretation of the upcoming Tarot weather forecast is that what we think we know will be turned on its head, leaving only our intuition to guide us. Intuition, if you want to formally define it, is described by Google as, “…the ability to acquire knowledge or make rapid decisions without conscious reasoning.”
Are you ready for that? And here’s an interesting experiment; even if you think this week’s Tarot reading is garbage, could you try for a week to go solely on what your intuition tells you? Just for fun? Would you trust it, and also yourself, to make decisions for a week based on what you feel in your body to be true?
That’s how intuition works. It is not only a notion that blossoms in your head like a time lapse video of a flower going from bud to flower in three seconds, but the awareness that the information of which you become suddenly aware is seated, or tethered, somewhere in your body.

We are so accustomed to gaining knowledge from outside sources that it is a novel experience to recognize it when it comes from within. And when it comes from within, it is your intuition speaking. It’s not what somebody else thought, or speculated, or told you. It is from a part of you that is so seamlessly integrated into the normal process and flow of a healthy person that you might not even be aware of it. Or you might, for some reason, have learned to tune it out, or smother it with worry and anxiety. Stress throws a blanket over our intuition like it is trying to put out a fire.
The reason for all this is that I’ve got five cards and four of them are reversed, which is enough to make me take notice; but it also means the only upright card, the High Priestess, is without context. Those four reversed cards are like bowling pins waiting for the mechanical arm to come down and sweep them away, since they have nothing to offer us. The only pin standing, and therefore all we can aim at, is the High Priestess.

So I am not going to go on at length about her more layered details, since she’s alone at the party and has nobody to interact with. I have to boil it down to her core function, which is to facilitate our ability to listen to our intuition, and assume that will be the most helpful thing any of us can do wherever we find ourselves in the coming week.
The key thing to remember, if you decide to navigate your way forward with intuition (or gut feeling, if that feels better) as your GPS, is that your intuition will not scare you. Stress and anxiety will scare you, but intuition will not. It can’t anymore scare you than your own eyeball can scare you or your toe, or your bellybutton, because it is part of you.
If you get a frightening feeling in response to a situation or the need to make a decision, that is the ego, which wants you to do absolutely nothing because it is the only way it can be assured of keeping you safe. But if you feel calm, or neutral, in the direction in which you decide to go, you’ve got a green light from your intuition. Better still if it sets off a series of joyful fireworks in your stomach, and you feel really excited.
It’s just a week. Try it and see what happens, because I have a strong sense that things might go easier.
