- The Reading
- Thinking About the Reading: Questions for Journaling or Reflection
My book launches this week! Which begs the question, and it’s fair: when I do these weekly energy forecasts, am I just reading for myself?
Often the energy does play out in an accurate way for me; but like any system of divination, intent is what guides the results. My intent, or what I am asking the cards, is to find out what energy currents will be steering readers of this post for the specified dates. That includes me, yes, but also you. Here are our cards for this week:

- High Priestess
- 6 of Pentacles
- 10 of Cups
- Ace of Pentacles reversed
- 5 of Swords reversed
Squeeeeeeee!!!!
First let us dispatch with those reversed cards. There will be no energy available for initiating new projects in the area of food, money, and shelter; nor will we be pushed to resolve some tight spot our big mouths have gotten us into. This doesn’t mean you can’t try and talk yourself into something better; oh, you can try. It just isn’t the right time for it to work.
Now, with that out of the way, onto better things. The High Priestess is absolutely wondrous and fantastic; we don’t see her that often so any appearance is notable and important. If you get the High Priestess in a spread and don’t immediately pivot from what you are doing into a position that, instead, puts your own intuition front and center – well, pfft.
6 of Pentacles is grace and plenty, and an open hand. 10 of Cups? Emotional fulfillment. So the High Priestess is encouraging you to follow your intuition in matters of giving, and to invest that same intuitive knowing into your most treasured relationships.
Compare and contrast a bit – the reversed Ace of Pentacles, had it been upright and fully operational, would have lent energy toward doing something new about food, money, and shelter. But 6 of Pentacles is about making a serious effort not to do something new, but to take what you have and do better with it.

10 of Cups is also a card of peace, openness, and appreciation for what you have, not what you need to secure. In both cases, the High Priestess is blessing us with an abundance of opportunity to tune into our own inner voice and let it reassure us; not because we need to do something new or rescue ourselves out of a mess, but because we are already sitting pretty – if we’d but step back, stop our striving and strategizing, and realize it.
What a great reading, and we really needed it after the last few. Yes, I do realize the recent Full Moon reading was just as dreary and sharp as could be. How do we combine it with this fine week of expansiveness and gratitude for our many blessings?
That reading featured a hero: the Knight of Pentacles. I like the Knight of Pentacles and his willingness to do absolutely anything that needs work. Perhaps he can be of use to our 6 of Pentacles, in figuring out how best to deploy the plans our High Priestess puts in our hearts. Good results and successful projects, particularly the ones that serve others, always boost emotional well-being.
Questions for Journaling or Reflecting:
Where in my life is my inner knowing (the High Priestess) gently pointing me toward generosity, care, or deeper connection; especially in how I share what I already have or show up in my most meaningful relationships?
How can I do better with what I already have? What resources (practical or emotional) do I have in abundance, and how do I feel about moving forward with a goal of sharing them more regularly?
If it isn’t a good time to start something new or seek resolution in a thorny situation, how do I feel about letting those things go rather than being tempted to force or push my way in? How could simply appreciating where I find myself lead to better approaches or solutions?
How can I combine the High Priestess’s quiet knowing with the Knight of Pentacles’ vigor and work ethic?
