Weekly Tarot Energy Reading

Sept. 14 – 20, 2026

Our cards for this week:

  • 6 of Cups
  • Ace of Swords
  • 4 of Cups
  • 3 of Pentacles, reversed
  • Ace of Cups, reversed

Gee, for a minute there I thought we might get out of this with no reversed cards, but it was not to be! And all Minor Arcanas, too. That’s the real notable thing.

Can we have a week where no Major Arcana energy intrudes on our lives and asks a lot of us? Obviously, but it has been a while! It means we get a break. Life continues, of course, but the movements, phases, and big asks of the Universe won’t rattle us around. Instead, we tend to routine life. I’ll take it.

We are heavy on the Cups this week, even if one is reversed and therefore mostly out of the action. Cups are about our feelings and our inner life, and it would have been delightful if the Ace had been upright but NO, instead we get the overly emotional and sentimental 6 of Cups, dragging her heels about getting on with a new emotional direction, and worse, 4 of Cups. 4 of Cups cannot be made happy; that good four vibration means life is stable and solid, but is that enough? Nope. Not enough.

I am not pleased. 6 of Cups and 4 of Cups function as the Achilles Heel of this reading. 3 of Pentacles? Reversed, ignore it.

Leaving us…only the Ace of Swords to decide if we are going to use his energy to be the hero of this whiny week of feels! That’s the challenge. Ace of Swords energy can be used to defend the position of whininess, or it can cut right through it and take us in hand as the Cups energy threatens to derail our days.

But it can go either way; what will you do? Aces are initiatory cards that get things going and introduce a new player on the board. In this case, our ace is in Swords, so the emphasis is on communications. We can either stay on the couch feeling sad and use Swords to write dramatic texts that verge on ultimatums, or we can seize on Swords’s energy to find a new way to express our thoughts in terms people can understand clearly.

It’s very simple. If you find, this week, that you don’t feel good about what is going on or where you are, communication will either clarify the matter and move things forward, or tank the entire operation with ill considered sentiments and dramatic pronouncements (that sounded so, so good when you rehearsed them in your head, but believe me they won’t land like you expect them to.)

Don’t mess around with Swords, friends. It takes a lot of effort to back out of the mess Swords can get us into; but used correctly, Swords will vault us forward if we are true, clear, and concise.

Now, aren’t you glad there were no intimidating Major Arcana cards in this reading?

Questions for Journaling or Reflection:

Since this is a week without major “Universe-level” demands, what small, everyday emotional or relational patterns am I ready to notice and shift while the pressure is relatively low?

Where in my life am I clinging to nostalgia, sentimentality, or “the way things used to feel” (6 of Cups energy,) and how is it keeping me from moving into a clearer emotional present?

In what situations am I currently feeling restless or dissatisfied even though things are relatively stable and status quo (4 of Cups,) and what would it look like to meet that feeling with honesty rather than resignation or drama?

How can I deliberately use clear, concise communication this week (Ace of Swords) to cut through where I’m bogged down emotionally, and what outcome am I hoping this clarity will create?
